Abide

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. John 15:4-5

Praising God for His perfect peace and the reminder as days go by that this isn’t my home. As the pressures from outside life or life inside our home presses in and becomes overwhelming or stressful it’s my natural tendency to want to escape from it all. Can anyone else relate? If I could just go jump in this picture of us all standing on the rocky shoreline looking over the vastness of the ocean it seems like it might all just go away. When in reality, that’s not true.

No amount of adventuring in spaces in our city or in far off lands can fill us like our Heavenly Father can. He is our greatest adventure!

I don’t know what you are facing today… maybe a diagnosis, maybe a difficult relationship, maybe sin in your own life or the life of others that is affecting you, maybe financial struggles, maybe you’ve been praying for a long time for something and the answer still hasn’t come, maybe a precious child is a challenge or maybe you find yourself wanting to escape into anything but the situation you are in right now.

No amount of escaping will really give you the rest you need!

Soak this up… “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Abide in Him.

Surrender to Him.

It’s a daily, hourly, minute by minute abiding and surrendering my plan over to Him and His plan.

Jesus is our rest.

Jesus will carry the heavy burden.

Jesus is gentle.

Jesus never said happiness or comfort is our purpose - He is looking for hearts and souls abiding in Him who first and foremost bring Glory to Him. May we have hearts that bear fruit for His Glory and surrender to His plan for our lives even when it isn’t comfortable or ideal. May we trust in Him and find our hope, peace and rest only in Him.

Hi, thanks for dropping by!

Take time to pause, ponder & be still before the Lord.

Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.

Psalm 34:5
