In Awe

I often find myself sitting in awe of God with a childlike wonder. Similar to the days when I dreamed of adventures in far off lands that I read of in storybooks or the witness of baby birds hatching while watching, sitting and waiting on a branch of the tree I spent hours in as a child.

This wonder is way more unexpected, inexplicable and beautiful with a whole lot of admiration. My heart, soul and mind are captivated with who He is. He knows us intimately and desires to be made known in and through us. God is a personal God!

I was reading His word the other day and had what I like to call an “in awe” moment while soaking up the goodness of this verse and my simmering chai tea… the Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. (psalm 138:8)

I love that through this psalm we get to hear how David trusts in the unfailing love of the Lord. He has such confidence that God is the one who will fulfill his purpose. No one and nothing else will bring to completion David’s purpose like the Lord will.

Awe!

He fulfills his purpose for me.

He fulfills his purpose for you.

Awe!

He created you, loves you, freed you, made you new, never leaves you, equips you for the purpose He has for you!

What a gift that we don’t have to look to anything else to lead us on this journey of life and love other then our Heavenly Father and the path and purpose he has for us.

If you’re anything like me I find myself wandering off that path at times with my mind taking me on a journey when something distracts me. I think to myself "uhhhh…would this be a better path”.

Maybe it’s an idea that I should change up our homeschool day or curriculum even though it’s working for this season all because something else looks shiny, a thought that there isn’t purpose in some mundane tasks when it’s a way to show love to those nearest and dearest, a suggestion from a friend to go a slightly different way when the Lord has already said stay the course with where I’ve led you or an anxious thought that begins to lead me astray.

Friends, let’s stay the course that He’s set before us with our eyes, heart and mind on Him. He is the one who fulfills our purpose.

What and who do you allow to speak into your life and purpose? Social media, speakers, authors, personality tests, music, friends? Do ideas creep in that aren’t supposed to take root? Does the well meaning friends suggestion rule over what God says is your path? Do anxious thoughts rule instead of remaining in their rightful place - handing them over to the Lord!

May we cry out to Him - your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever - no matter what He calls us to.

May we be friends who remind each other - the Lord will fulfill your purpose, sister! May we pray for each other and point our hearts to Christ!

May we stay the course that He has set before us. He has made a way for each of us and it’s a unique path - a journey that is created just for you.

His purpose is bigger than our or any one else’s idea of what it should be, because it’s not about us or them - it’s about Him! He has chosen us to be daughters who bring Him glory.

Your eyes saw my unformed substance;

in your book were written, every one of them,

the days that were formed for me,

when as yet there was none of them.

(psalm 139:16)

Awe!

Hi, thanks for dropping by!

Take time to pause, ponder & be still before the Lord.

Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.
